The holiday break is starting off perfectly... We have never really spent time in Alto Adige, the "Austrian" part of Italy, except being high up skiing and trekking in the Dolomites. We love Christmas Markets but we have been to the Stuttgart area markets so many times and it is a schlep to drive up there, so we thought we would visit this area for something new. And we loved it- just darling and adorable. Very special because we were in the Alps/ mountains, idyllic for winter wonderlands and Christmas Markets. We took a funivia up from Bolzano and then a little bahn for more tiny Christmas Markets and amazing views of the Dolomites. They really. Really. Really want to be Austrian. So the food, architecture, beer are very German esque but we still had excellent wine and were in Italy! Non consciously I was confused, I was speaking this crazy Ital-Deutsch. Half my sentences were in German and the other half were in Italian (I could start off in German and then not remember so finish in Italian). Boh. Trento & Bolzano Italia 20 & 21 December 2018 News: I started a yoga teaching certification program. One weekend a month, 200 hours and I will complete in July. And taking weekly yoga classes. The studio, which I just randomly found, is in the next village, only 2 kilometers away, has been there for 10 years and is just lovely. I am loving it and so excited about learning more about yoga. Avalon adopted a rescue dog, Fawn. Who is adorable and looks like a deer. Zaven and Joe are both powering through their programs. Z is looking at internships for next year. Joe is planning on completing the doctorate in July. January : Israel. With Lori of course February : Barcelona March : Singapore and Australia to visit Kerry!!! |
