Limone e Serole, Italia
Instead of skiing at Sestriere we had a last minute Serole weekend. I had wanted to go to Serole because I wanted to go skiing in Limone, where Paolo's brother has a restaurant. It is always nice to get the VIP treatment. But Joe wasn't convinced, until he was at the gym with Michael Thursday night and Michael said, "Hey how come you guys never invite me to the vacation house." Nothing personal we just never invite anyone. So Joe knowing I am always up for a Serole weekend and knowing Michael wanted to check it out AND that we could go skiing at Limone - win/win/win. Zaven, because he was home sick with a cold, and I left home Friday after lunch to get down there and warm up the house knowing it was going to be around minus 7 and with a ton of snow. Well when we arrived, there was so much snow there was no where to put my car and then our cortile was FULL of snow and I was thinking, 'Che cazzo person has been piling snow in our garden?' But realized that the snow was JUST that deep (up to the kitchen window) . We had a fun day skiing - it was Limone's first real ski day with all lifts open.
And today we had a FUN day sledding in Serole. Jeez so much snow - such a great work out - schlepping up the hill, Baci was dying.
Right: Outside and inside the L'Ange Bianc - Limonetto - amazing food, service and decor!
It was really a perfect weekend. Good food, good vino, good skiing, good snow, good sun, good sledding, good Apples to Apples (becauseiwon), good movies and good company!
