:: April & May 2017::
The Austrian Hospice in Jerusalem.
Amazing strudel, garden and
rooftop views

Who would have thought.
And the beautiful, but disappearing
Dead Sea
Halvah & hummus

Salatim

And I didn't eat nearly enough
baklava

I love Israel

Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, the Dead Sea &
Masada, Israel 5 - 10 May

Traveling every week through mid
July

It's nice to be home on the
weekends, I miss Joe, the kitties,
Baci and my bed
The main reason I went back to
Israel was because my dad passed
while I was climbing Masada at
sunrise on May 8th 2016. To
honor his memory and mark the
anniversary we planned a return
trip.
Climbing Masada at sunrise,
remembering Omar, lighting the
yahrzeit candle, leaving ashes and
saying a prayer.

8 May 2017
I love Israeli wine and we stopped
at the Yatir vineyard to taste and
be educated on how Israel grows
wine in the crazy heat. Hearty
French varietals and hiding the
vineyards in the cool Yatir forest.
Amazing
Oh I can never ever get enough
salatim...

Last day a visit to a Tel Aviv
beach. Where we met a Trump
supporting Italian living in Israel.
Dumb luck.
Omar's Tree  - I was a bit worried
over winter because it was just a
bald little stick, when Z and I
visited at the end of April it was
green and full of leaves.

Maybe the ashes helped.

Serole & Alba
22-25 April
It was fun visiting the annual
Vinum in Alba

22 April 2017
A little stop to admire the lakes
and Alps in Switzerland.

Four countries in one day. Life has
been a little hectic lately with work.
Zaven flew down and met me in
Stuttgart and we drove home
together - I came home, threw
clean clothes in my bag and
Maurizio took me to the airport.

17 May 2017

Tomorrow off to Barcelona, the
following week Lake Tahoe & Palo
Alto then
Tel Aviv
then Amsterdam
then Dubai
then Bucharest
Then vacation...at HOME

Love having Zaven at home
