The beautiful views of La Morra |
We spent a very lovely and cozy Christmas at the vacation house. I was so happy the renovations were done and the boys were comfy up in the lofts. I forgot the spray bottle and the cats were totally defying me but loving all the exposed beams upstairs - it's a like a big cat house. Christmas eve and Christmas day we went on beautiful hikes - pre raclette and cheese cake and BBQ salmon and mashed potatoes...the beautiful weather was an added bonus.
And it wouldn't be Christmas without a trip to Germany and Stuttgart for Christmas markets. Gorgeous weather and gluhwine.
I love Switzerland and this lake
I wanted Avalon to experience Alba, which he had never visited before, and do some wine tasting - because he has such a "sommelier" nose from his perfuming. We went to Voglia di Vino - sampled reds and whites and had some cheese. #truffleshopping
| Avalon came home for Christmas! I always feel so blessed to have my entire family on the same continent, in the same country and under the same roof. He is heading back to Germany for a few days and will return to Milan and go back to Portland on New Year's Eve. I miss him already but can look forward to his June visit for Zaven's graduation. #hooray! Italy | France | Germany | Switzerland December 2015 Av works from home anyway and has a cool boss and great company so he worked from here for the first week, which was fun for me to have someone to hang out with beside cats. |
Our family tradition to visit Milan before Christmas. Av and I went in early and Joe and Zaven met us when school got out.
Mr. Leonetti, Fribble and Figilily
Prosecco on the terrace of Rinescente with a gorgeous view of the Duomo and Christmas lights.
We hadn't been to Strasbourg, France in more than 10 years. The first time was when Zaven was just 18 months old and to celebrate Avalon's 10th birthday. I love this town and the Christmas market.
