Buon Anno! Happy New Year!

A really wonderful way to kick
off New Year's Eve - skiing at
Prato Nevoso! With the rest
of Piemonte... It was sunny,
crowded and really fun. I am
craving vitamin D - so just
feel high when I get some
high altitude sunshine.

Not Where's Waldo, not a
mosh pit- just people hanging
out...skiers, sledders, sun
worshippers - crazy crowded
but a hopping New Year's Eve
atmosphere
We took two hikes on New
Year's Day (trying to burn off
some of the thousands of
calories we have been
consuming) - this was our
morning hike - the sun and
clouds were just beautiful
over the hills of the Langhe.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! We
hope you have a year filled
with health, happiness. love,
magic, good friends, good
food, good wine, a lot of
laughter, no tears, exciting
adventures and prosperity!

We got home from our
morning skiing around 15.00
and fired up the BBQ in our
little naked without summer
furniture cortile at the
vacation house

I recently accepted a new
position at HP (I am offically
starting March 1st) ~ this
wasn't an easy decision
because I love my job but I
couldn't pass up this new
exciting opportunity. Right: My
lovely and unexpected
welcome to the team package
from my new manager and
colleagues located in Portland
and Fort Collins.

I was in Bucharest, Romania
last week. I think this will be my
last trip there  - never say
never, but I was so happy to
spend time with my darling
Anastasia, who was, as always
such an amazing host.

This week I am in Grenoble,
France. Some French Alp
photos right ~ my next life I am
going to be French and live in
Grenoble.

This weekend Joe and I will be
at the vacation house and
skiing on Saturday - sun and
fresh snow! Prato Nevoso...or
Limone ~ undecided.

The first week of February I
will be in Barcelona and
then....SKI VACAY the 3rd
week of February ~ Sestriere -
Torino Olympic Area. Av is
coming down to stay with
Zaven and Baci and hang out
for a few weeks -  He is
finishing up his internship and
of course we LOVE to have
him.

March, Zaven, in Leonetti
tradition, will be attending
Model United Nations Dublin -
we are so proud as he is only
in 9th grade but was invited to
attend.

Much to be happy and
thankful about.

Grenoble, France
What a PERFECT Ski Day!

I think my best ski days are
at this little resort ~ Prato
Nevoso ~ about 1.5 hours
from our vacation house in
Piemonte - it is south facing
and when there is a ton of
snow & sun & not a ton of
people it is truly perfect!

There is no way to describe
being in the mountains with
all the brightness, blue
skies, white snow - to me
this is heaven.

Joe has this goofy hat - that
he loves - he wanted a real
fur one - beaver or rat or
something - but I found this
on sale at H&M for 7 euro,
he loves it and wears it as
often as possible.
Another thing I just love -
taking our lunch break,
outside in the sun,  with
some red wine, cheese,
salumi and bread.
I love the slopes in Prato
Nevoso - they are perfect to
allow a lot of sun during
every part of the day.
Right: And the apres ski - a
little prosecco and people
watching. The end to a
perfect day.
Wowzers - look at all the snow! When we arrived on Friday there was no place to leave the car - every available open area had a mountain
of snow plowed into it. Ugh. We managed. I love when there is snow up there - we usually sled, but didn't this weekend - more snow is on it's
way....It was a perfect weekend at the vacation house!

So happy to be home for a week. Next stop Barcelona, Spain.
