Aprile 2011
Such a great and relaxing Easter - it was perfect. Above our pre Easter meal hike - there are tons
of trails around our vacay house and this was a new one - in this area you find round rocks - weird
but true - and we are always on the look out - Joe found this one and had to schlepp it all the way
back - he got a good work out - it was heavier than it looks. The ever present Baci - dying from the
heat - his 2nd work out for the day. We were pretty excited that Zaven left the house ;) it's official
he is a teenager, but amazingly still wonderful - we are lucky ~
Above: RFL demonstrating her ability to be a dork and as well levitate. Our typical run vs. our summer run - it's about 7 kilometers - we run
along a hill crest - it's either up or down - but
'flat' considering how hilly the area is - until we come out at the end and can see the French Alps
- it's also a great walk with amazing Piemontese views to the South
Above: Z and his
dog post hike. Left
- Andrea who
sometimes visits  -
so to keep him
entertained he
plays with the
Leonetti collection
of micro machines
passed down from
Av to Z . Money well
spent.
Above left: We continue our wine study - this time comparing some whites - Pinot Grigio vs. Chardonnay vs. Gewurtraminer or Traminer for
Italians. We weren't going for high quality just what are the distinct characteristics of these wines. We are going to recruit our neighbors up
there to give us a lesson on how to bottle wine. We need to find a good grower - buy a bombola (one of those huge glass wine bottles) and
then bottle and cork it. It's a bit of a commitment we need to be sure it isn't poo wine - a good everyday table wine. The tasting was fun - Joe
has a way better nose - mine is somehow broke - except if you are wearing too much cheap perfume - then it works fine. We had our tasting
with fresh Buffalo mozzarella, bread and pomodorini tomatoes.

Above right: The grill master - we love that we can enter our cortile through our new door. We BBQ'd on Easter - turkey, mixed green salad
and asparagus. Look close - mid - right hand side - the mighty round rock.

In between hikes and runs - I baked and read (Italian cook books and the wine book), picked wild flowers, chatted with the neighbors, kept
Andrea entertained and off the street (remember this is the boy who peed on and threw Myra last summer), Z played X Box and we watched
Season 5 of House - does it get any better?
