May 2010
Finally we have our tans and summer
is here!!! Our first day on the Riviera
- May is THE best time because the
beaches are not crazy crowded. I do
think I saw a morbidly obese trio
emulating Summer Lovers, which was
disturbing (but I thought Avalon
would like to know about it), but other
than that it really was the most
perfect beach day!

Zaven and Ermanno's Clara ~
Serole, Italy 22nd Maggio.

We were going for our after dinner passegiata and
in front of Marisa (the only one with the telephone
when the field was on fire fame) and Ermano's
house, their dogs were barking so she comes out
and shouts, "Allora!" But then realizes we are there
and felt silly and we say good evening and Joe
wants to ask Ermanno about our broken wood stove
door, because Paolo, who knows everything, said
Ermanno might have an old one because
apparently he has everything (he was some sort of
tinker person before he retired and became a full
time animal lover, but not in the creepy way, he also
has a new baby goat, Clara, who was rejected by
her mamma (one of Paola's many goats, where his
mamma makes the cheese from) so Ermanno, who
adopted her, she hops around the house and on
the couch and chairs, but has to sleep outside and
he needs to feed her from hand. I want a baby goat!
Before the baby goat fun they asked us to come in
and  I asked if we were disturbing them and of
course they said no and we walked inside to a
casual dinner party - (cringe) so we sat down and
ate more, drank more and gossiped with the local
farmers. This couple is  gorgeous and things like
this are why I love living in Italy.

The windows will cost a mint, we are getting another
estimate and need to talk to the courthouse about
(argh) but I am really excited because we have so
many fun remodels planned for the house.
